So we arrived safely to Las Vegas a month ago. It was a long journey through Canada. We were very glad to reach the "lower 48" and be on US soil again. During our journey we saw many things including a bear, a moose and a ton of buffalo. Unfortunately we lost our beloved Kodiak during our travels. :( It was a very sad day for us. We had heard stories from other friends but never thought it would happen to us. He decided in the middle of the night to push the window screen out and jump. Dino did well on our travels. Kealee, Aly and Andon each did well also. It was a LONG trip and they were all glad to finally arrive.
Tomorrow (sept 22) we finally get keys to our new home on Nellis Base Housing. We decided we would get a 3 bedroom house instead of waiting for MONTHS to get into a 4 bedroom house. It will all work out for us, I am sure of it. :) Our new house is very pretty and we are excited to start making it our own.
Kealee started 7th grade and is enjoying her school. She is finally making friends and most of them we have found out, live on base too!!
Aly and Andon are loving their new school. Even though Andon only goes from 12:55-3:15! I have been trying to teach him for 5 years...and they want to do it in 2 hours...REALLY! Seems like a waste to me but he likes it. :) Aly is a big girl in the 2nd grade this year. She started girl scouts here yesterday and met some new friends.
Robb is working out of Creech AFB which is about a 45 minute drive from our new home. He likes his base so far and is enjoying the new air frame he is working on. I am not thrilled about his "swing" shift, which is 3-11pm but I guess that comes with the territory of being the "new guy on campus".
I am loving Vegas and all the sunshine!! The heat is HOT but it is nothing like the humidity I am used to in Virginia. :) I, too have made some new friends and plan on doing lots of stuff on base! There is so much to do here, it is crazy!!
I guess that is enough for now. I am new to blogging and will try to stay on it as time and events permit! :)
